Easiturn3 Automatic Tool Post, Denford 8 position

Post by johnn1 » Wed 26 Sep , 2012 16:48 pm

Hi all
This is my first post though I have been viewing for a few weeks now
I have recently purchased an Easiturn3, with PNC3 control and the denford 8 position toolpost.

All working great now I have sorted out a few poor connections.

This question is about the toolpost, it is placed on the crossslide at the front in what I would view as the normal position.
when you do any turning the way the tools are fitted means that the only support of the tool is the two grub screws.
If I were to run the spindle in reverse with the tool in upside down, the way it is supported appears more appropriate and the grub screws are just holding the tool tight in place.(as a normal tool post). The problem here is that the tool is way off the centerline of the workpiece/lathe.

I know how to adjust the auto toolpost but 15mm is a lot and the tool would be at quite an angle

I am probably missing someting simple, Please help

Thanks John :delirious: :dumbfounded:
