Tool offset problems

Hi All
Finally got my Senior 200 up and running with a massive help from Martin which is well appreciated. Can anyone please advise on this issue I seem to be having setting the tool offsets. I have followed the manual but when I do a tool change the z axis is out. This is how I have set it using 43mm diameter bar
Work Shift screen mdi mode. Jogged tool 1 and faced off. Pressed Work/Offset key then MZ0 input. Jogged to the OD of bar and pressed Offset/Menu key then MX43 input.
Geometry Offset Screen mdi mode. Touched tool 1 on face entered MZ0 input. Touched tool on diameter entered MX43 input.
Repeated this with tool 5.
When I run the program tool 1 is exactly right. When tool 5 goes to position the X axis is right but the Z axis is about 2mm away from the face.
I don't think I am doing it wrong so would appreciate any help.
