Resurrecting a Compact 1000

Post by tourniquet63 » Thu 29 Oct , 2020 16:44 pm

Hi - I am relatively new to CNC and this machine but I am trying to get it up and running.

I have verified the software is upgraded to vr milling 5.66.0.698
I have verified the correct machine is selected
I have checked the spindle fuse and other main fuses - all seem to be intact.

I currently get an "unrecognized error (code 15874)" when I click the "select real machine" button. The status of the machine is stuck on Initializing

It looks like the machine was stopped while running a program the tool is in the material.

Any help is appreciated!

try running the 'easy upgrade' or 'easy update' can't remember which, it's part of the software on the CD. you should be able to get it to talk to the machine.

I have had this, i was able to solve it by a full deinstall and reinstall of VR5

Have you installed the USB driver from the installation menu?
When you select the real machine does it go through the process of searching for the machine and downloading data or do you get the message as you soon as you try to connect?

As easy upgrader works I think you are not too far away. Sounds like it could be the USB driver.

Could you try installing on another PC?

Easy upgrader says all is up to date.

It may be worth reinstalling VRMilling.

other than that have you got the correct machine selected in VRMilling?

Attempting to install vrmilling on my laptop with the seckey file off the old comp.

Giving me an error.

Is there a specific way I need to move or do the seckey file?

Put the seckey file in the denford folder on the machine - seems to recognize it and is working.

Now I can't get my laptop to recognize the machine via usb - I will look for drivers I need to install.
