Compact 1000 will not home or jog

Post by Benny » Fri 04 Apr , 2008 20:15 pm

Customer writes ....
The Compact 1000 will not Home or Jog. When you push Home the Z axis numbers change but the machine doesn't move. Customer vacuumed the contacts /blew debris out with compressed air. Customer replaced fuse on the control card inside the machine under the side panel making sure the fuse holder clips are tight on the fuse. The fuse is located on the lower right side of the control card, between the “black boxes”. Tried secret home and still did not help. Replaced the e-stop, this did not help.

Comapct 1000 - does not home or jog

Noticed that the Y-Axis was not homing. Table moves slowly away from the home switch, new sealed home switches installed on all 3 axis. Upon inspection, the wire on one of the push-on spade connectors for the Y axis home switch was broken at the crimp joint. A new connector was installed on the wire. Customer also said that spindle motor does not turn on. The spindle switch on the spindle motor was set at OFF, turned it to ON, replaced the FS4-spindle fuse with a 10 AMP quick blow/fast blow fuse.

Machine is now up and running.
