I am installing a 4th axis on a Compact 1000, the unit is from a Micro router Compact.
The components I have are the 4th axis unit, Parker Hanifin XL stepper drive, a 4700uf (100v) capacitor and a bridge rectifier and all the cables.
Looking at the wiring drawings that are with the Compact 1000, are the Capacitor & bridge rectifier used?
Are they any detailed drawings or photos on the inastall of the 4th axis units?
Thanks in advance.
4th Axis Install Questions

Hi,
It is not a straight forward question.
How old is the Compact 1000?
We have used two circuit boards in the back of these. If it is the older one MRC/0850 (this was also fitted in the older compact. then the bridge and cap are required.
If it is the new board (with 5 relays) MRP/0850 then the rectifier will already be fitted so you dont need to add another.
If you have the wiring diagram with the machine the connections to the 4th axis are shown.

The Compact 1000 was made in July 2007 and has a MRP/0850 board in it.
It looks like pin 1 on the 10 pin XL 1 connector goes to pin 3 on connector 6 (+35vdc) on the MRP/0850 card and pin 2 on the XL 1 goes to pin 1 on conn 6 (-35vdc) MRP/0850.
There is a 9 pin RS 232 style connector cable XL 2 with a with a 16 pin connector that looks like it plugs into the top card of the Next move control card and a sigle light gauge red wire that looks like it should go to pin 1 on TB10 (+5 volt out).
The drawing shows a wire from pin 9 XL 2 going to pin 6 on conn 8 MRP/0850.
The drawing does not show the 16 pin conn. Is this used or not.
Thanks again

On the 16-way IDC connector, there is a gray wire going to pin7 on the 9-pin X2 connector and a red wire on the IDC going to pin6 X2.
The 5 volt lead from pin1 TB 10 goes to pins 1 & 2 on the 9-pin X2.
Do I need to add a jumper for the 5v lead to pin 5 X2?
Do I need to add a lead to pin9 x2 (labeled Shutdown) to go to pin 6 on connector 8(Earth?) on the PCB card - MRP/0850?

Finished wiring the 4th axis control card in.
Did not install the Capacitor or the Rectifier Bridge from the MicroRouter Compact.
Added the jumper wire to pin5 in the 9pin XL2 connector and ran it to pin1 TB10 (+5vdc).
Added the wire to pin9 in the 9pin XL2 connector and ran it to pin6 Conn. 8 PCB card (MRP/0850).
Plugged the IDC connector into the top card of the NextMove Control Card, wires at the top.
Installed the 8-way QM socket and wiring harness inside the cabinet.
Enabled the 4th axis in Machine Capabilities IV Axis - 1
4th axis is up and running.
Thanks for the help.
