It all appears ok.

You need to look at trying a different pc.
& make sure it is a pin to pin RS232 lead.

What version is the E-Prom on the control card?

Can you post a couple of photos? (control card,RS232 Lead)

Are both com ports set up in the Bios?
It sounds like you have the setup correct.

Is the seven segment LED on the control card lit inside the back.
It may be a fuse or control card issue.

No the machine acts as the dongle.

Is the RS232 cable correct. It needs to be a straight pin to pin one.

It is looking to connect to the machine at this point.

Have you got the RS232 lead plugged in to the correct com port?
Try booting the PC straight in to dos.

Is it a PNC3 control (electrics in a drawer with monitor in centre)??

Have a look at the LED`s & fuses on the control card. They are on the large circuit board on the right hand side of the draw.
The power section is on the back left when looking from the front.

What control does your Triac have? If it is a PNC3 (North East Electronics) it may be worth looking at the " T Test " screen the next time the fault appears. If you turn on the machine & then press "T" it will display the machine diagnostics. At the bottom it will display any overtravel messages. It...

Is it a true Fanuc control?
What drives/motors are fitted.

I guess the spindle drive will need a 3 phase supply so it will be easier to purchase a phase inverter.

Take a look at the focus lens. It may be that there is a black clouding effect on/in the lens. If this is the case then a replacement lens will overcome the problem.

I think it is Fanucmd you need.

You will need to make the disc a boot disc (system).

The Eprom you have fitted is a a version used with Denford Dos Software. You can download it from the Denford site.

In order to run VRMilling Ver 2.31 you need a eprom Ver2.1 fitted.

Easy Upgrader only works with Next Step boards. I presume your machine will have a Denstep board fitted to it. If you open up the electrical cabinet\box & then power it up by turning the isolator manually you will see a "7 Segment" L.E.D. in the top left corner. If it is red then you have a Denstep ...

It sounds like you have a problem on one of the USB devices.

Try looking at the USB devices in device manager & check that they are all installed correctly. If one shows a error then try to update the device.

It looks like you have plugged a RS232 lead into the desk top tutor. It needs to be a pin to pin or 9 to 25 way converter. It may be easier to try swapping the RS232 lead between com1 & com2. You do not need the desk top tutor connected at this point. If the RS232 is correct then the machine control...

DFX import

When I import a DXF file I can machine an area to a given depth, but what if I have a region in the area that I don’t want to machine. When you use 2D Design the area fill asks if you have any islands, does VR Milling not have a similar function, or do you have to beak down the area before importing...
