Re: BT35 Toolholders
Hi GingerNinja, Tricky question about the boring bar set. I have just managed to get a 30 International to suit the set to allow me to use with my new Harrison mill. That being said, it’s really too nice for me to use, as none of it has ever been used, but I always think I will use it one day but pr...

Re: BT35 Toolholders
Hi Nemo,
I have a load of BT35 stuff most of which is brand new and boxed and of premier brands such as Nikken. I even have a Nikken MAC boring bar set with BT35 holders, unused, that must have cost an absolute fortune new!
Let me know what you need and i will try get specific photos

Yes, mine has the six station ATC in BT35. By chance you can actually see the number "6" on the carousel on my For Sale photo

Re: Triac ATC
Hi Steve,
Nope, not this one. It is definitely BT35
Not sure why you built this as BT35 but it may be because it is serial number 0001 so may have been a bit of a prototype.
Don't get me wrong, I wish it was BT30 as life would have been a lot easier, and cheaper, sourcing toolholders

Triac ATC
Hi Guys, I have for sale my early Triac ATC with BT35 spindle which I converted the machine some time ago to Mach3 and have a full licence for this. The machine has mechanical switch overtravel to all axis and proximity home switches to X&Y. Full spindle speed control via Mach3. Unfortunately the AT...

Wanted: BT35 1/2" side lock toolholder
All my BT35's are metric but have been given half a dozen brand new 1/2" TIN coated end mills so need a holder to suit. Only collect chucks I have are ER16, not big enough, or DA180 which is really designed only for drilling.

Re: COMPRESSOR FOR TRIAC ATC
Hi Rich, The ATC has very little demand as you are only filling, if I remember correctly, three small cylinders and only the two that drives the carousel in and out and up and down are double acting; the spindle release is air operated but spring return. I don't even have my compressor running as th...

Re: New Triac Retrofit
Hi David, I have just ignored the fault boost and energise lines. I suppose a nice touch would be to get an input to Mach3 for the Fault signal but i'm not sure how, or why, you could utilise the Boost. My drives are continually energised as long as there is power (set with the jumper on the drive b...

You mention "old stock."
What might you have lying around for a Triac ATC (BT35) ?
Will call round and collect if you any Triac stuff that is heading towards the skip!

Re: Help with Triac VMC converting to Mach
Hi Dave,
The flat springs are about 12mm wide and have little 'barrels' attached to their ends. These barrels are 10mm diameter and 20mm long.
They may actually be one long spring with a barrel at either end if you see what I mean.
thanks ...Sweep

Thanks for the uploaded info. Some of it must already on the site hidden in other documents as I seem to have quite a few of the pages. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to answer my question about the logic. Page 27 of the upload shows a cable with three wires; Common (red), Ready (yellow), and error (...

ATC Toolchanger logic
Hi All, I have a late 80's Triac with 6 station BT35 ATC controlled by NEE SMCU; actually the serial number of the ATC is 001! As part of my very long modification to Mach3 I want to still keep the ATC. After a lot of time with the oscilloscope I captured and recorded the code that is sent from the ...

Dale,
What toolholder type is your ATC for ...BT30, BT35?
A couple of my flat springs on the carousel have snapped off which means I only have 4 stations available.
Mine's a BT35

Re: Triac ball screw pitch
As far as the capacitor modded circuit is concerned, is this what you mean? Also, considering the old age and delicate nature of the PKS Digiplan SD2 units, are we pretty safe installing these capacitors? Since posting last someone pointed out the error in my maths as I have lost around 20 pulses to...

Re: Triac ball screw pitch
Thanks for your thoughts Angel-tech.
As i'm a bit of an electronics novice can you just eloaborate where exactly to introduce the capacitors. If you could print off the drawing, sketch on your mods then re-scan it that would be fantastic.
thanks ...Sweep

Re: Triac ball screw pitch
Hi Steve and thanks for your input. The stepper drives are still the original PKS Digiplan SD2 items driving the original motors. They are interfaced to Mach3 by a simple transistor array (see attachment) though I will be changing this to an opto-isolated creation if I can sort out this distance los...
