Re: Denford Desk-Top Tutor membrane
this may be useful to someone, in finding the hex codes output from a Desktop Tutor. Note I used 9600 baud, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit (I am hoping that is correct for the keyboard....) {{CORRECTED.....}} a hex code is issued via serial interface for a button press and another for button release ...

Re: Orac Spindle Pulley Bore + Keyway size
Spindle pulley is 30mm dia, keyway is ~8mm wide and ~3mm deep (into the pulley)
Spindle pulley is ~61.7mm dia
Motor pulley is ~ 34.7mm dia
Pulley ratio is therefore ~ 1.778:1

Orac Spindle Pulley Bore + Keyway size
I was just wondering if anyone knows what diameter the spindle pulley bore is and the keyway size is?
Looking to put a taper lock HTD pulley on it with a servo motor to upgrade an indexing spindle.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Triac PC, should I fix or convert?
Mach3 {or any other cnc + motion controller} are not going to solve your problem at all. The problem sounds primary power related to the spindle by the sound of things. so, I'd find the fuse that powers the vfd (variable frequency drive) are remove it and repower up. the machine to test it does not ...

Orac Modernization Spindle Speed VFD

Without it I would have been reluctant to jump in blind to a lathe upgrade {update}. Looking for an old Denford cnc mill now ;) {I've an F...
