Hi, I want to start my Novaturn spindle in reverse. Is this possible? M4 starts the spindle the same direction as M3

Please can anyone say if it is possible to start the spindle in reverse and how?

Regarding the "off the shelf" cable that works. You tech guys might know if this Null modem might mean anything?

The serial cable you are using does not look to be the correct one. It should be a Black Lindy cable and is not an off the shelf serial cable.

Really the machine should have connected with the lower Baud rate (its just a connection speed as such), it was the only difference I could see in the setup. but from what you found it must have been an issue in the installation.

Your other machine with the USB connection will not use ...

Hi Mitch, I changed the baud rate to 57600 and it still would not connect. I restarted the pc and still no luck.

However I decided to reinstall vr Turning and using 57600 it now connects!! So great news. Many thanks for taking the time to suggest the different baud rate.

I thought that the figure had to be 19200? I read that on the forum in another post. Is there a different baud rate depending on the machine or cable used?? I am not a computer man so don't really understand this type ...

You can change the Machine Type in Denford Easyupgrader.

You can install it from the VRTurning CD or download it from the Denford Website.

You will need to connect to the machine, Then Right click on the banner at the top. Then go in to Advanced (Password is Dave).

We used to set the Microturns ...

The control software is VR CNC Turning V1.49.

For programs I have a copy of edgecam and use a post that's close and just edit it a little.
