Re: F1 Car machining Set Up
Hi DTTechboy, Please see this forum post which has downloads and instructions on how to fine tune your offsets when machining a STEM Racing car. https://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=6077&p=26070&hilit=jig+setup#p26070 if the offset changes over the length of the car, then this indicate...

Re: Re installing QuickCAM pro and VR5 on a Windows 11 PC
Hi Ant, The only files you will need to copy across are the Offsets/Tools. Open the Offsets/Tools and a new menu will appear on the top bar called Offsets / Tooling. Click this and Click backup, once you click ok to the first backup it will give an option to Backup file to another drive, click Yes a...

Re: VR Turn feed rate fixed at 55 in/min
It sounds like you have a scaling issue with the software and this may be why the OK button within machine parameters cannot be seen. i would certainly look at downloading the updated VR turning software from the website as the scaling issue would have been resolved. alternately you can set your zoo...

Hi, please see the change log for V1.55 of VR Turning https://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6348 the release fixed an issue when changing between imperial and metric mode. VR Milling 5 does add lots of features and is required when moving to a newer OS such as windows 7, 10 or 11. a very...

Re: F1 Fixture Setup
I have expanded on this Jig Setup a little with the inclusion of a 4th axis program and a PDF document which outlines the steps required to use the jig setup program. The new jig program also removes less material from the model block, in most cases this leaves the block free to be used for machinin...

Re: 3D-model of machine for simulation in Fusion 360
Hi Yngve,
We are currently working with Autodesk to add all of the machines into the software for simulation. I know this answer doesn't help you straight away but hold tight and we will have all of our machines added to fusion 360.

Re: New problem
They are direct drive with a coupling. the newer machines use oldham style couplings but some of the earlier ones use a flexible coupling, which can break. you can inspect the coupling by removing the bellows at the spindle end and removing a small cover plate from the bearing housing underneath. if...

Re: Small Internal Bores
so for this, I would disable the 10mm drill bit within QuickTurn 2D and let the boring bar take out the material up to the 10.5mm. to get a radius between the external face and the bore, when you change to internal mode start with a curve and create your own radius, you can edit the values after, bu...

Re: New problem
it sounds as though the Z axis has stalled, can you manually jog it past the point it stalled? you may have something under the covers causing the axis to jam.
I would start with trying to jog the machine first though and see if it moves freely.

Re: Small Internal Bores
ok no problem. I entered the data from the tool into QuickTurn2D, as you stated it cannot go down into the smaller bores. What I did was reduce the value of f to 1 (WF on your datasheet). Theoretically this should just reduce the size of the cutting face. This change does allow the tool to now bore ...

Re: Small Internal Bores
Can you double check the values you have entered for the tool or you can post them on here.
I have just trailed this myself and I am able to simulate the boring of a 6mm to 3mm tapered hole. this is using a 1mm boring bar as an example.

Re: HELP CONNECTING VR TURNING TO NOVATURN NS
Hi David, Really the machine should have connected with the lower Baud rate (its just a connection speed as such), it was the only difference I could see in the setup. but from what you found it must have been an issue in the installation. Your other machine with the USB connection will not use the ...

HI,
The only thing I can see software size that is different from default is the Baud rate, which should be set to 57600. maybe this will help.

Re: x axis slipping during cut
Hi Fletch, I would do as I described above, remove the bearing blocks on the end in order to remove the nuts fully, then you can clean under the red cover and give the threads a good clean out. remember not to use wet lubricants as the dust will stick to these and cause more problems than it will fi...
