manually I can put the machine where I want .
seems by setting the datum at x100 y-80 z-50 I can get programes to run
maybe I will have to off set the zero by using a datum point as such?
or programe from the existing datum ie in reverse which is a ball ache

looking at the manual that came with the machine it would appear the x axis is set all the way left for home.
I have had encouraging results by re setting the datum but looking at the manual if the x axis was altered all would be ok.

ok I have got everything moving in jog all appears ok.
however when I try to run any of the progs supplied with the machine it is always coming up with machine axis exceeded or words to that effect.
I am wondering if the home position is correct for the machine it is as follows.
x all ...

got that one sorted.
machine parameters uncheck the potentiometer boxes.
all I need now is a crash course in fanuc.
any ideas?

got the nova mill connected up to a computer selected machine installed baldor usb stuff
computer recognizes machine spindle will run but machine wont allow me to jog as feed rate set to zero also spindle set to 50% the machine I have doesn't have over ride potentiometers and on the hand pic on ...

New to all this got my software up and going hopefully the machine and it will marry Saturday.
what I need now is a guide to programming or a good lesson or two, its totally different from the XYZ at work.
any tips ideas etc???

I have just purchased a nova mill built 1996 seems to have a usb type thing connected as well as the ols rs232 effort.
I have no software with this (the disc I was sent was blank ) ((no big deal))
I will see if I can upload pics.
realistically I am after a good way of getting this running.
