Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
...But my lathe is dated 1985, so mine are older. .... The date written on the capacitor and PCB you photographed definitely looks like 90 as in 1990; and the issue number of the PCBs is higher (i.e. newer) than those on mine - which was definitely made in 1987. So, I would suspect that the VFD is ...

Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
hi Jim, Firstly, I think the manual kindly posted by Denford Admin is unfortunately not fully relevant as its for a VC-150D not a VC-150 (maybe D stands for Digital?) re the VC-150 / over-current - this is what I believe - but no guarantees! The drive has an inherent inbuilt current limitation funct...

Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
Jim, yes, to be honest, I think Admin is right - the idea that it should say VC-150 instead of what looks like VC-130 did cross my mind and that was partly what I was hinting at in that I couldn't find reference to a VC-130 anywhere online either. I would be pretty sure its a VC-150 .... In case it ...

Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
to be honest, I've never heard of a VC-130 - but yes, if its a VC-130 then 1.3kW looks right. Do you know anything of its provenance? It may be worth dropping IMO a line to ask - you never know, they may be forthcoming! and your detailed photos should help.
Good luck / Dave

Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
OK Jim, sorry I had initially assumed the first photo you posted was of your drive. Have just pulled my old VC-150 out First thing is that there doesn't appear to be any marking on the board as to its model or capacity BUT on my unit, and in the one whose photograph you included, the is a paper Qual...

Re: IMO Jaguar CUB for ORAC
hi Jim, I too used to have a similar inverter/VFD on my Denford Senior 3C mill. The model number is on the top line of the black data plate at the top right of the blue plastic case; it then goes on to state the capacity in KVA on the next line - in my case my old VC-150 was rated at 3 kVA One word ...

Re: Senior 3C Mill - head info reqd. pse.
Thanks - there isn't even an 'ordinary' motor rewind shop left here on the Isle of Man so I'll have to ship it to the UK - was only asking in case anyone had good or bad experiences.

Thanks very much for looking.
Is there anyone you would recommend to do servo rewinds?
thanks / Dave

Re: Senior Quill Head. Anyone taken one apart? I need heeeeelp!
Have no personal experience but, if its a "Senior" and not a "Senior 3C", you may glean something from the drawings in the Senior Manual which Denford have kindly placed in the download section.
Would be interested how you get on - haven't had to service mine yet (a Senior 3C).

Re: Lubricating Oil
hi - not sure how compatible it would be your existing oil but we use Mobil Vactra no. 2 on both CNC and manual machines - it has a good reputation as a way oil and, whilst it seems to hold on to the ballscrews and ways, it doesn't seem to grab and hold the chips like some other lubes do.

Senior 3C Mill - head info reqd. pse.
Senior 3C Mill (s/n 3C24037B, manufactured April 1987) - head info reqd. pse. Appreciate if anyone can provide info on : a) Z-drive motor. After repairing the intermittent Z servo tacho wiring, the quill has started "stuttering" and on inspection its at a regular interval which corresponds to one bo...

Re: Senior 3C - circuit diagrams?
Thanks very much, machine is up and running again (and sorry I didn't make it clearer about the drawings - I just quoted what was on the embossed plate). The symptoms were that sometimes the Z quill wouldn't reference on startup (it would just drive to the e-stop limit switch), or would sometimes st...

Re: Senior 3C - circuit diagrams?
Thanks very much for that, its a useful start
If its possible, when you have a chance, would it be possible to see the others that were on the plate please? - i.e. up to 082 ?
Many thanks / Dave

Senior 3C - circuit diagrams?
Is there any way to get a scan of Wiring Diagrams A3 400 074-082 for my Senior 3C mill (TNC155B control) s/n 3C24037B please? I managed to resolve my earlier E-stop problems (VFD was faulty and consequently opening the E-stop loop, so replaced the Jaguar Cub with an ABB drive) but after a few months...

Have made some more headway. Firstly, after having perused the downloaded Drawing Index, it clicked that there were similar numbers on the machine and the manufacturing data plate is in fact engraved "Wiring Diagrams A3 400 074-082" Found the limit switch connections in the junction box on the knee ...

Thanks Martin - understand now that the limits seen on-screen are soft. I've pulled the guards off and physically inspected each switch; they all appear intact and un-contaminated, the roller arms are all free and clear of the operating button, and all have an audible snap. The only ones I been able...

Have powered up on the rear mains switch and then released the E-Stop button and then after mem test etc. and CE have pressed the green machine power on and and IF I HOLD TH...
