Z axis brake

We are having trouble with what I have been told is a brake on the top of the z axis motor. As the machine moves on the z-axis it would seam the brake is engaging and stopping the travel. The unit runs very hot. Too hot to touch for more than 3 seconds. There also seams to be 4 cracks in a disk insi...

Re: Guard Open Error

I think the on/off switch got dust in it. It was starting to make an 'arc sound' as the machine was manually being turned of at the end of the day. Over the past six years your machine has worked faultlessly. I have been cutting balsa CO2 cars. Lots of them 5 a day for the past two months. So lots o...

Re: Guard Open Error

Thanks so much for your input and quick reply.
I tracked the problem to a faulty on/off switch.
A easy replace and fix.

Re: Guard Open Error

The spindle has stopped.
It is when the router is returning to the home position home. Once a program has finished.
It is like the machine sensors that the guard is open, but it is not.
Can the door be opened when the router is in between a sub_call program?

Thanks

Guard Open Error

My 2600 has just started not homing at the end of programs. It starts, then stops three quarters of the back to the home Position. I machine a lot of CO2 Cars using a 4th Axis and sub calls. The Error is 'Machine not safe close Guard.' The door is Shut otherwise the first program would not start. Th...

Re: no spindle speed on router

The motor made different noise then stopped, emergency stopped activated. Once the motor was removed it made a bearing grinding noise once spun with fi...

Single Step mode

We have just installed VR Milling 5.42 on 2600 pro
I started to use the single step function and found that the cursor moved through the code but the machine did not follow.
I cut a lot of student designed F1 and CO2 cars so having that function is very handy.
Have I missed something?

4th Axis Question?

I have been working my way through the 4th Axis Machining manual and machined the 'Methead' and the 'Jurrasic' machine codes. The Methead has the Z level set to the billet and the Jurrasic has the Z set to the centre.
My Questions are why set to the billet and when?

QuickCAM 2D Design-Curve Tool problem

I have only been using QuickCAM 2D for a short time. The curve tool does not fix the angle of the last point. I have drawn a line using the curve tool, finished the curve and adjusted the angle, then saved. Closed the file, I then gone back to the saved curve and the end of the curve has moved. I ha...
