The customer did try to run the part without the vacuum and everything did run correctly.

They have not run easy upgrader, but can suggest that to the customer.

They have installed and earth clamp mod, and will verify that it was installed correctly.

When the customer clicks on home all, the Z axis counter will count and then the machine will time out about about 50 seconds. They used the secret home button and then tried to jog, again the counters would change but the axis would not move (all 3 of them).

No - nothing seems to be powering down, the axis just stop moving and the program continues to run (as does the spindle). There are no error messages on the computer. The customer sent the following: "The vaccum is being run at all times and yes it has the brushes on the motor assembly. I let it coo...

The fuses were F1 and F2 from the transformer and if they were slow at blowing, then F5 on the Control Card. With the power turned on, F1 connected, the machine would blow the fuses as soon as F2 was connected. Transformer was replaced and machine functioned normally. Machine was run non-stop for 45...

There is one more thing to check, under the front edge of the saddle is a set screw that holds the brass sleeve in place for the X Axes lead screw. Ensure that this set screw is tight (but do not over tighten, as the sleeve is brass). Then try jogging again. You may need to remove the lathe from the...

When I manually move the X axis leadscrew the cross slide does not move. When I run the stepper motor for the X axis the leadscrew turns but the cross slide does not. Does this mean the saddle assembly is bad? If so how do I go about getting it replaced?

X Axes will not move on Microturn

If you are sure that the stepper motor is engaging, then you certainly have a mechanical problem with the lathe. In your machine manual (I believe it will be in Chapter 7) is a section on Maintenance. Ensure that the lead screws have been properly cleaned and lubricated. Check to see if there is a n...

Description of problem: Over time, it seems as though the bearings or something similar that hold the XYZ motion components have either worn or loosened. There is no visible damage, but the router machine seems to have a bit of “play” in it which is resulting in a degree of error in precision. Two m...
