Hi,
will it be ok to use motor oil in the lubricator on my triac?
the reason being is I dont want to buy a 5 gallon drum of the correct oil!
I have read that its fine or if I wanted thinner I suppose I could use 3in1
Any views?

68 grade 'Way Lube', or 'Slideway Oil' is what you want. It has a special tacky additive that helps it stick to and stay on the slides for longer. If you can't get proper slideway oil, a good substitute is chainsaw oil, which has the same additive to stop it being flung off the chain. Chainsaw oil is sold in most garden centres.
