the earlier green triacs had a stepper motor running the carousel, whereas yours has an ac motor and geneva mechanism. I believe the change to the geneva mechanism was brought in because swarf would jam up the stepper motor/gear mechanism.

It looks like you're stuck with the slow change unless you want to make major changes to the carousel and electronics.
