Microturn NS - Thread cutting error message

Post by raylyon » Thu 08 Mar , 2007 14:57 pm

The following error appears

Machine error - sorry cannot cut thread
A spindle encoder is required in order to cut thread, this machine does not have one fitted.

We purchased the machines in August and took delivery in October2006, one CNC M/C was the basic microturn NS and the other was upgraded to include the thread cutting option ie larger chuck and additional driving motor and belt drive. It is this machine which we are using to try and cut the thread with but error appears.

Can any body help with this.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

If the machine has the encoder fitted, then you need to turn on the option to say it has an encoder, you can either:

1. Select Microturn2000NS in machine paramters.
or
2. Turn on the spindle encoder fitted option in machine paramters for the MicroTurnNS

Go to menu Setup -> Machine Parameters... enter password denny
either, right click MicroTurn 2000NS and choose "Make Active"
or, open up the section Spindle and tick the checkbox for Encoder Fitted
