Project of the Week: Quick Change Tool Rack
The tool rack project allows you to not only store your tools where they are clearly identified but allows you to refit tools and set the offsets automatically.
The Long series ¼” Ball Nose Cutter is stored as Tool 1 the reference tool and will have a zero offset the other offsets are set in relation to this tool and will have preset values.
Using the Quick Change toolholders the tools can be fitted and set to the correct length then secured in position.
The toolrack is designed in QuickCAM 2D Design and the design file can be downloaded here along with a document showing how the CNC program has been created. The Quickcam file has to be downloaded and Unzipped to be used.

The final G&M code program is attached below as an FNC file.
This program can be used to cut the toolpath
The Program needs a 6.35mm Slot Drill (Tool 2) and a 3.175mm Slot drill (Tool 3) to be produced and holds the Denford recommended tool set and a photo engraving cutter.
