electrical short - please help...

Post by tallpaul » Sun 12 Aug , 2012 19:48 pm

Total newbie here...

I bought three micro cnc machines from a guy who got them from a school and never used them. They are roughly 1998-1999 machines.

I have two mills and one lathe and one mill was locked without a key and would not power up. I leaned it back and jumped the switch and all powered up and I could spin the mandrell etc... until I slipped and it shorted from the switch to the enclosure.... the other two seem ready for the PC

Please tell me there is a fuse or something easily checked ,reset or replaced - pretty please! :dumbfounded:

I am excited and hope to learn with these! I have software etc and will be asking other questions in more appropriate places! Thanks and God Bless-paul

I found the fuse! what looked like an attatchement point was actually a fuse holder on the one line so I just need a non keyed switch I think.
