How do you change the NextStep card info?

Post by boots » Fri 25 Jan , 2008 21:36 pm

Installed a new Nextstep card in a Micromill, now I get a warning that I'm trying to connect to a Novamill.
How do I change this to a Micromill??

You need to run the latest version of "EasyUpgrader".I think the latest version is 1.7.0.103.
EasyUpgrader is normally supplied on the main VRMilling or Turning cd`s supplied. If you run the "autorun" on the cd it is the second option. ( you can also download it from the Denford web site)
Turn on the machine and have the cable connected.
Open the Easy Upgrader software.
Then run Easy Upgrader --- click on the Green Banner part of the window.
Press "Check my machine"
Once the machine has been found right click on the opened window.
Click on "Advanced"
The password is "dave" in lower case.
This will open up the screen that allows you to alter the machine type & also the serial number of the machine. Leave the Node as "2"
Click "program" to finish
Click "check my machine" just to double check that the info is correct.
You may need to "update" the card if prompted when you are connected to the machine.

Hi Boots,

The easy upgrader is the way to go. When you open easy upgrader you need to right click on the banner at the top of the screen.

This gets you two menu's and you need to select advanced.

The password is "dave"

This is how we program the machine serial number and machine type. If you change a control card you need to set the new one up in this way.

I will e-mail you on how to use the card test function!

Thanks for the help.

I knew it was in Easy Upgrader. Tried every password I had on file and could not get in.

I'll make sure I print a hard copy of this.
