Post by celad2001 » Wed 14 May , 2008 15:50 pm

hi i am in trouble again help please... :(

we have a senior 200 fanuc ot lathe
which was ok until someone fiddled it and now it fails with a "not ready" 404 servo alarm (vrdy on)
now i have looked at the fault code which didnt help me any

does anyone have any idea what i should be checking please
i have next to no knowledge of this machine i am just the bloke who fixes things here.. i am an electronics tech not a machine man so please make allowances for my fear of greasy things :)

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

The 404 alarm is something to do with the state of the input VRDY being ON, before it should be .

The Fanuc needs to see that the drives have switched OFF, before it will turn them on.
It will also know if safety circuit has been overridden to be permanantly ON

My guess is that whoever fiddled with it has forced something (like a relay or switch) ON all the time ?
