VMC 1300 vs VMC 1300 Pro

Post by cboydrun » Thu 01 Dec , 2011 16:23 pm

Could someone explain the difference between the 1300 and the 1300 pro CNC machine? I see the spindle speed/motor difference, but is there any difference to the exterior? (ie is one marked pro) Also is there a price difference? And lastly what would be the benefit to upgrading to the pro vs the regular 1300?

Thank you for your assistance,

Chris

Hi,

The Machine will have a label on the front identifying the machine type. Also the machine serial number plate will state what the machine is a 1300 or a 1300PRO.

The only difference in the two machines is the spindle motor and drive. The standard machine has a DC motor with Tacho 4000RPM Max speed. The 1300 Pro is a servo motor and drive capable of 6000RPM. The pro also has upgraded high speed spindle bearings fitted.

The higher speed is better for machining fine components with small cutters.

The price difference is about £2K

Excellent. Thank you very much.

So, should I plan to use this machine for incrementally grinding small amounts off rock (for research purposes;about the width of a piece of paper) using a diamond cutter, would the increased RPM be an important feature? (in respect to the grinding precision)

Thanks,

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

The PRO bearings I'm told are of a higher quality and a matched preloaded pair.
This may improve grinding accuracy over the none pro machine but it really depends on cutter size and speeds you will be using.

I'm sure sales at Denford (co.uk) will be happy to cut a sample for you
