Triac rebuild - balluff sensor, limit and home

I have a here an Old Triac, that i'm gradually putting back together.

It seems to be missing its X axis bracket which holds the limit, home and Balluff sensor

I have the illustration for it.
Just spent and hour looking at how it is wired it seems to be Home one end and limit the other, but all the other balluff sensors have been wired into estop, including the one in the head pointed at the spindle.

Could any tell me please what these sensors are for? and can I do without it in the x axis?
Also i'm left wondering what the head sensor is for.

Any help much appreciated

The Balluff sensors should be for homing, and the microswitches should be for limits (and connected as part of the E-stop circuit).

Thanks, I assume the sensor in the head by the spindle is for something else then?

Where about exactly?

I'm aware early ATC Triac's had a spindle alignment sensor for the tool changer, or it could be an RPM sensor.

I hoped it was an rpm sensor :)

Its in the head block itself next to and pointed at the spindle just below the belt wheel. Ive traced the wiring and it does seem to be wired to the estop which is odd or maybe a mistake.
This machine has seen some rewiring and had servos fitted in its long life. I dont think this model ever had an atc though, its the first model I think that wouldve come with the console and monitor around 1990

Down there, it could be a spindle overheating sensor, which would explain why it's wired into the E-stop.

The earlier Triacs fitted with the North East Electronics GSM Control card were fitted with a spindle speed sensor. I don't see why it would be connected in the E-Stop line.

My Mistake, its not connected to estop, after a double check I had my wires crossed it isnt connected to anything as it stands at the moment.

On reflection today I believe it should be connected to to oiler system which would make sense.

I need another for the x axis, well i dont need one but id like one. does anyone have the data sheet for the
BALLUFF NJl 5BGN ?

Id like to replace to as close as I can.

We still have a few of these 2 wire old sensors, check out the link below. They will be sold as new old stock with no guarantees.
