TRIAC VMC - July 2001

Post by Benny » Tue 14 Apr , 2009 15:37 pm

I am leafing through the wiring diagrams and noticed that the Aux Output 1 and 2 are located from the additional I/O.
Do I need to have the customer order an I/O card? Is there a way around this?

This Triac has standard I/O but no Additional I/O card that I can see.
I have attached photos of the Triac PC Mill.
I need you to look at photo 003, this is the I/O bank.
This bank is mixed with 5, 10, 12 and 24 VDC.
I only found one input that I can use, the door closed (location 9 on green block).
I have tested for the following but seen NO switching.
• M62/M64
• M10/M11
• M38/M39
I stopped at this point.
I need the following I/O Locations.
• M62/M64
• M10/M11
• M38/M39
• Door Open/Close (Input)
• M66/M76

If you can get me the I/O locations from the I/O Block in photo 003 this will be a big help to me.
Photo 006 is the information tag.
This Triac is going on a CIM Line.
So far ALL testing has been done with a Multi-Meter.

From what I can see in the post below:

It looks like there should be an additional breakout board that connects to the 60 way header on the Rack card.

This would have been factory fitted if the machine had been ordered CIM ready.

Not sure if we have the pin out of the 60 Way header.

Will have another look tomorrow.

Hi,

I now understand what is required. The Card in the Rack with the 7 segment display is attached to a board that fits next to it by a ribbon cable. This card has limited I/O ability.

To be able to use extended I/O an additional I/O card is fitted in the 3rd slot.

This card is not fitted as standard and it is about 6 years since we used the rack system.

I have checked our Service stock and stores and we do not have a card in house.

it may be possible to purchase one but I am unsure of the cost and availability.

If the I/O card is fitted then the 60 Way IDC is connected to the breakout board and the connections can them be made.

I attach a diagram of the board wiring.

Hope this helps.

Triac PC

Post by Benny » Fri 24 Apr , 2009 15:14 pm

I am trying to Cycle Start the Triac via serial communications.
I need to know the best way to do that.
Also are there Hotkeys to activate the following.
• Place the machine in AUTO (VRMilling 2.31)
• Stop Button
• Rewind Button
• Play Button

As you know already this Triac was a VMC converted to a PC.
We are using Comport 3 as our CIM Input Port.
We have Hyper Terminal working from an external computer to the Triac computer (Hyper Terminal and Den Comms).
But we cannot get the Triac to respond through VRMilling 2.31.
Please help!
