Triac ATC Toolchanger problems

Post by cncbasher » Sat 09 Aug , 2008 16:24 pm

Hi ,
i have just bought a triac atc , so i may ask daft questions as a newbie , ha ha ha , but we all started somewhere !

ok down to the problem , on requesting a toolchange , the toolchanger appears not to lower it's self and then of course crashes into the spindle head

any ideas anyone ?
is their any test procedure for setting up and testing the ATC

Thanks
Dave

What software are you using to control the machine?

It sounds like you have a Triac PNC3. Does it have a small monitor in the centre of the control?

Have you tried performing a tool change without any tools both in the ATC & up the spindle? It will first try to remove the old tool so the carousel needs to be empty.

yes it is the PNC3 , no i have not try'd it with the ATC empty , i'll give it a go
is their any pre setup or initial commands etc , or test sequences

the manuals i have downloaded seem to be sparse when it come to the ATC

Martin,

iv'e found the problem on a tool change the spindle was not aligning with the toolchanger clips , it seems to do it randomly , so could be because it's not been used recently that the bearings in the spindle and motor need a bit of excersise

thanks again

Dave
