As far as I am aware, the motors on all the axes are the same. The X and Y motors are however powered by a 2A SD2 driver, while the Z axis is a 3A SD3 unit. Have you tried taking the covers off to get to the Y or Z motors to try and get the part codes from them?

Cheers

Thanks Dave ,
i am just in the middle of stripping it , to move it through a door !
not recomended for any sain person , so i should be able to get to the motors
i'll post the info on the plates hopfully tomorrow

it's never even had it's coat off before , so having a good peek and poke
had to remove the ATC and the Z axis , i would have hoped to just be able to
unplug the cable and gently remove them , but alas all the holes in the castings are smaller than the plug housings . i'd have liked to remove the head casting , just for lightening the load whilst moving it to a new location
