My Triac VMC, manufactured 1998 is giving the following error

When the machine is switched on the following error message appears

Bad or missing command interpreter
Enter correct name of command interpreter (e.g. c\command.com)

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Sounds like either:

The boot floppy disk has become corrupt
The floppy disk has been taken out
The floppy disk settings in bios are wrong
The boot floppy drive has failed
The floppy disk cables have come loose etc....

Feed back from machine owner

The solution was to find the original floppy disc & tell the computer to look there for the required program. Previously this was not necessary so I now need to copy the file from the floppy onto the hard drive.
