Triac vmc draw bar

Post by George P Pan » Mon 22 Jan , 2024 14:58 pm

Hello everybody

I am having issues with the drawbar of a triac vmc .
When I was performing a tool change the drawbar couldn't push enough to release the tool . I send the drawbar for repair as the oil seal was ripped off. The draw bar came back repaired and after the installation the same problem. I thought that the problem should be the washers or the rod so I disassemble the lower part but I couldn't locate any problem. I contact again the repair shop and they told me that they can not check the drawbar because it is too small for their machines. So is there any manual or guidelines for the repair of the draw bar and the rod washer system? How much force should the draw bar apply to the rod?

Thanks a lot
Regards George

On my Triac the toolholders often wouldn't release when the pneumatic cylinder was activated, and after checking the oil level in the cylinder, which was OK, all it needed was a little adjustment to move it down nearer the drawbar.
I've not had any problems since.

You will need to adjust the tension as per the attached link with a tool in the spindle.

Hi Martin

Can you help me more
I read the topic so I insert a tool and adjust the 10.5mm for the fist locknut to the top of the drawbar . The washers are all opposite each other except the top and the bottom is that correct? I think that was the position when I disassembled them?
Also I have to adjust the lower part of rod? meaning the pulstud holding mechanism ?
Should I do anything else?
I can send you a video also because i can't uploaded
Thanks a lot
