Starturn 4 control software errors

Post by dwynkoop » Thu 05 Apr , 2007 17:19 pm

Hi Guys

We received 5 denfords as a donation

2- 86 triacs
2- 85 oracs,atc
1- 87 starturn,atc

Orac is up and running, still trying to find a post that the machine can read.

The Startun came with a ISA control card (precision stepper motor control er, Quickstep-PC) We didn't install the card because we cant find a PC with an ISA slot. Tried running the Fanucsld software and get the 128 error code. Starturn offline software gives the error Software file cant be found or corrupted. OS is dos.

any help would be appreciated

looks like there is 2 versions of the Starturn software 1 gives error but other works. it hangs, guess it cant see the machine.

This could be why the fanucsld wont run either.

Hi dwynkoop

Denford never used an ISA QuickStep control card on their Starturns so I guess your machine must have had a retrofit upgrade at some point (or perhaps the cards don't belong with the machines and are a red herring???)

Both Starturn and FANCUSLD software communicate with the machine via RS232, a 'normal' Starturn machine having it's own intelligent controller built into the electrics.

Hope this gives you some clues!!! (but I don't hold out much hope for these :(

finally got it to work, it was the version of software and the cable.

Oh, I have the complete manual for the Triacs. Im slowly scanning them into pdf. If anyone needs a certain section let me know.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

There is a guy asking about the ATC connection details (to the 15pin connector at the back ?)

I found some original working drawings and put them in the Download section , but maybe you're manual is clearer ?
