Customer Writes:
We seem to have an issue with the CNC router. It is difficult to remove the cutting tool from the collet (this was an issue when we had the trainer on site), much more of a concern is the tool working its way out of the collet during cutting operations causing damage to the material as the cutter fails to clear the material and cutting too deep. This happens with fluted and non fluted tools when we are cutting anything other than foam.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Collet on Router Pro not releasing

Re: Collet on Router Pro not releasing
Could you please confirm if the collet has been assembled correctly?
Remove everything from the motor.
Take the collet and snap it into the locknut. The two should be assembled before fitting in the motor.
Then start to screw the assembly into the motor.
Now fit the tool and tighten.
When you come to remove the tool the collet should loosen with the locknut.
Failure to assemble correctly causes the collet to collapse incorrectly and not grip the tool properly.
