X-axis leadscrew backlash

Post by lsteele » Tue 27 Sep , 2016 22:27 pm

Hello,

I was doing some work on my Orac today when I noticed a lot of backlash on the x-axis. I ended up taking the whole assembly apart, and I realised that that the x-axis leadscrew was actually spinning around inside the coupling which attaches to the timing pulley. I assumed it must be attached with a set screw, but there's no hole for one! I'm guessing the two parts must have been glued. I'm thinking of Loctite to stick them back together. Does this seem like the right way to go? And any suggestion about what type of loctite? 638?

Thanks!

Some pictures of the parts attached, in case my description doesn't make any sense
