Hi Can someone please clarify which part is the 'Headstock' and which part is the 'Axis Bearings'?
I am trying to maintain/lubricate the thing. Is 'Headstock' the main spindle? Presumably the spindle and the spindle motor have bearings that will both need renewing after several miles of wear?
Are the 'Axis Bearings' the X,Y and Z motor bearings?
When the spindle spins it makes a bit of a grinding noise. I guess it's new bearing time...
Thanks

To me, headstock is usually the bit that turns the chuck on a lathe...normally Headstock on the left, Tailstock on the right.
On a mill, the "headstock" would equate to what I know as the spindle (the bit that spins the tools)
Axis bearings will mean the axis leadscrew end-bearings. An axis "nut" is the thing that goes around the leadscrew to move the axis...it will contain small ball bearings that usually need some lubricating.

Re: Novamill Part names
I took the thing apart and it seemed, according to this download/file.php?id=766 that part RM1/715A has become slightly bent at the top and rotates with a slight wobble, if that's the technical term. It fouls on part RM7/105 and that's what is growling. I gave it a seeing to with a file and it's fine now.
Thanks very much

Glad it's fixed
For anyone else looking, is RM7/105 the tin lid ? I can't see it on that drawing..It fouls on part RM7/105
