Mirac and Triac (1990) -can be upgraded ?

Please advise if the following machines with "on board" pcs can be upgraded to the latest software. Thank you.

MIRAC serial# E03709 A/1 build date: 5/1990

TRIAC ATC serial# Eo3589 build date: 6/1989

Looks like you are out of luck - both these machines are based on the GSM / North East Electronics systems.

General rule of thumb is that pre-1994 are mainly to old to update to the latest VR windows operating software. (Thats not to say its impossible - just a lot more work and money needs to be invested in bringing the electronics up to date)

If the machine has a EURO-CARD rack system with a 3U baldor motion control card and a DOS PC (either 3U PC card, or external PC), then it can normally be upgraded quite easily with a new USB euro-control card.


PS - can the owner of the Triac tell us his DIP switch settings on the toolchanger SMCU card (if it has one) :wink:
