move buffer full

Post by staffpbu » Wed 10 Mar , 2010 10:58 am

we get the error message "move buffer full" now and again, there appears to be no pattern to this and it happens intermittently. This particular occurrence is during a run of a repeat job and has run successfully 4 times before this error. Nothing has changed...so were at a loss as to what to do

i welcome any comments

There are a couple of well known buffer related problems:
"Move buffer full"
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=618&p=1905&hilit=move+buffer#p1905
Seems to be to do with poor quality USB ports, or power saving turning the USB off

"Transmit buffer full" or "Timeout on host"
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60&hilit=transmit+buffer+full
Are related to the machine firmware being out of date, or static build up from the dust vacuum causing a discharge which "kills" the control electronics for a brief period.

What are you machining?

Is the extract running during the job?

Are you connected by RS232 or USB?
