Easiturn 3 Saddle gib strip

Post by Handi_andis » Sun 09 Apr , 2017 11:01 am

Hi
I'm confused, and not for the first time, the Easiturn 3 manual talks about adjusting the cross-slide and saddle gib strips. I've done the cross slide one but I can't find one on the saddle. The parts manual appears to list one but I can't find one or any obvious screws associated with one. Hence my question is, is there a saddle gib strip and if so, where is it and how is it adjusted?
Thanks
Andrew

Hi,
I've never played with those but have you checked underneath the back of the cross-slide, i.e. under near where the X stepper is fixed. The saddle rides on a V way plus a flat way, I'd look for something that "clamps" the saddle onto the flat way from below. If that makes any sense...

Hi
Yes thanks, that is where I looked originally in the region of where the lubrication manifold is but couldn't find anything. Also looked at the front but couldn't see. Looked either end of the saddle as well in case it was a wedge type design but couldn't see, and can not find a drawing of the saddle either to aid my quest.
Thanks
Andy
