MCR 40 Issues

Post by Will Noon » Thu 22 Oct , 2020 12:22 pm

Looing for some help with an MCR40.

We have one that's been doing some odd things on almost all the files/cuts we have attempted.

Initially, the problems started with the bit wandering to the left or right by a fraction of a mm at various points in the job. But this has progressed to the cuter wandering into the work piece at different points in the same file, or different points in different files.

It doesn't seem to be a mechanical issue, or the motors skipping steps. The error doesn't reach the limit switches so I doubt they're the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? I thought it might be a software problem after a windows update, but this wouldn't account for the random way the code seems to be working.

I don't have a file to upload along with the post just yet. I can get one later.

Any help would be appreciated

Have you lubricated the machine with the silicone spray provided?
