Since purchasing my Triac, I’ve had a few issues around the spindle drive, etc though I’ve now resolved these.
I’ve been checking all operations, referencing, tool changing etc and have been getting issues occasionally where the USB connection drops out.
Whilst an issue with the Baldor board is possible I’m sure, would it be intermittent like this?
Any ideas on getting a more stable connection?

What is the message you get when loosing connection?
Have you checked your PC power saving settings? Make sure the USB is not going into power saving mode.

Re: Comms dropping out
Thanks Steve, I’ll take a look at pc settings.
The pc is active when it drops out, though I’m not sure if there are any background settings for the USB ports specifically? I’ll take a look…
The windows message is “USB device not recognised”
The pop up within VR5 is “The Device driver call failed”
Today I’ve had increasing periods where it was fine, but then I couldn’t clear an emergency stop alarm when rebooting VR5, so I’m stuck trying to resolve that one now…

Re: Comms dropping out
I wasn’t aware of this, but found my laptop had the settings enabled so would have been powering down the USB port.

Found the details of how to change (for anyone else that it might help)…
Will trial tomorrow and hope the e-stop issue is self-resolved! (or I find an answer in the meantime!)
