Hi all,
I bought recently a Denford ORAC, and (as most of them I guess...) it only came with a self centering 3 jaw chuch.
So, I am now looking for an independent 4 jaw chuck. Any body could tell me where I could buy a suitable one ?
An ER32 collet chuck would usefull as well...
Ta,
Laurent

Re: Denford Orac Excellent condition and working order
Hi, Yes, that was the one. It was marked as broken... But if you read the description all mechanical bits were fine just needed a new capacitor (a couple of quids). And anyway, it makes no difference to me or to most potential buyers... As I would like most people converted to Mach3. Therefore all e...

Re: Denford Orac Excellent condition and working order
Hi,
I am not that far... Braford.
One of these sold on eBay last week for £670.00 so I can offer the same amount.
Is that acceptable for you ?
Regards,
L.

Taking A/C bearing of the spindle off
Hi all, Anybody ever try to replace the bearing on the spindle of a green Triac ? Bearings on mine are making funny noises, so I'd like to take them off to see what's wrong and potencially replace them. These seems to be A/C bearings, And I don't see how to take them off... If I use an internal pull...

Triac Hydraulic fittings on the lubricating system
Hi all,
My Triac is leaking oil from one of the compression fittings of the lubricating system.
Looks like I need to replace a couple of them.
Any ideas what thread size they are? Looks like almost M8...

Laurent

Proximity sensors
Hi all, I bought a Denford Triac in need of re-wiring. It is a green one with steppers made in 1985. I managed to get the Spindle controller and steppers working fine, but I am stuck on the proximity sensors on each axis. What are these ? how do they wire ? They looks like a 20mm long threaded bar o...

Re: NOVAMILL TO MACH 3 Conversion
Hi Rich, I would only need the electric cabinet (the control unit) but event tho, I guess 300 Miles is far... :-) Seeing your picture of the electronic, it looks easy enough to convert... All you need in there is the spindle control board (Bottom left corner) and possibly the PSU on the bottom and t...

Re: NOVAMILL TO MACH 3 Conversion
Hi Rich,
Where are you based?
If you can bring the Mill to me (Bradford BD18) I'll do the conversion for you for 50 quids. (not including the parts ofcourse)...
Laurent.

Re: Novamill Gets a 4th axis!
Hi Mike,
I am more interested in making a 4th axis as a project rather than really make something with it...
That's why the belt system is more interesting for me. I don't see how I could build a harmonic drive!
Thank you for the response!

Re: Novamill Gets a 4th axis!
Hi Mike, Nice work! Looks like part of the machine! :D What CAM package do you use to give you the GCode for your 4th axis ? I know Mach3 support 4th axes and rotary axes, but what CAM give you the GCode? Also, I have seen a few 4th axis system from China using a belt drive system, is that no good? ...

Looking for an EasyTurn Lathe to convert to Mach3
Hi all, Anybody knows where I could buy an EasyTurn ? I could swap / part exchange for a Boxford 125TCL fully converted to Mach3 if anybody interested... I've been looking for a while now and nothing comes up... I guess it must be a good machine and once you got one, you don't want to sell it? :D Ta...

Tom Senior M1 Column drawing
Hi all,
Anybody got drawings with dimensions of the main column of the M1 mill?
I am geting a rising block made and I find it very difficult to measure the dovetail.
A drawing showing the dovetail with angles and dimensions would be of a really great help.
Thank you,
RNR

Re: Feed rate on Micromill
OK, 300mm/min that's 5mm/s so I was about right
Will experiment up to 500 to see if it is any better or worse...
The cutter I am using is 2mm in diameter with 2 flutes.
Thank you,
Laurent

Feed rate on Micromill
Hi,
Anybody could tell me what feed should I use on a micromill when machining plastic and aluminium?
I did not want to overload the little machine, so I got it set up at 5mm/s but it takes a really long time... could I set it higher?
Ta,
Laurent
