It sounds like the PC power supply is no good. If the machine is OK then you could run the machine with an external PC. The only connection between the two is the RS 232 cable. The best way to check things out is to leave the PC disconnected. Disconnect the RS 232 from the internal PC and thenget an...

I agree with admin. :!: The machine must be stalling as it starts to retract then is out of position. I do not think the material will make any difference as the stall is happening on the retract. :? I would make sure the Gib strips on the Z are correctly adjusted. Oil the z leadscrew and put some g...

Hi,

It is also possible to save 2D designs as DXF files from the drawing package within PRO D these will import directly into VR milling through the DXF import. :D

This only works for 2 D Designs though :(

The triac has been made in many forms a photo of the machien would help! The toolchanger is controlled by PLC logic within the machine tool control and this will require air to drive the cylinders operating the toolchanger. You will need air connected to the machine. There are several pictures of ma...

What machine are you using?

There are software limits that set the length of travel in each axis. It could be that you need to change these.

Are you saying you have to stick the tool out of the spindle further to avoid the error?

If it is a micro Mill I think there is a thread on this somewhere.

Quick CAM 3D and PRO have built in Post Processors. At the last page of the wizard select the desired post processor before you click post. By default a Denford FNC file will be created. In the UK the Techno Isel machine is marketed as an EDUCAM machine. Select the EDUCAM Mill post processor. I thin...

Please note: There is heat build up in the mirrors and lens when the laser is being used. If the mirror or lens are marked with smoke or material that has been cut then the heat build up increases and can burn or crack the optics. Never clean the optics shortly after running the laser :!: :!: If you...

Normally tool one is used as a reference and the machine datum is set with the offset for tool one set to zero. If the tool subsiquently breaks you can set the new tool one up and set the offset like all the other tools in relation to the old broken tool. The only difference is tool one will now hav...

What type of turret is this? Is it a Barrafaldi?

Has the turret worked until recently or has the machine been moved and reinstalled?

If it is a 3 phase turret have you got the phases correctly connected? If not it will turn continuously.

If you visit the link under machines you can identify the board type and also see what Admin is talking about with the advantages of upgrading to USB.

The machine performance would be vastly improved as you would get full 3D contouring. :P

Hi, I dont know the colours on this transformer but can make an educated guess. The Black is probably the Neutral The Orange and Blue will be either 115V or 240V. If you have a multimeter you can confirm this. Measure on ohms the resistance from Black to Orange then black to Blue. If one of the read...

The common problem cutting any plastic when the material melts is that there is insuficient feed. The material melts because of the friction of the tool rubbing the material. If you were using a thicker tool I would suggest you run at 5000 mm/min try the spindle speed at 8000 then put the feed to 50...

Stepper motors are very simple. there are 4 phases to the motor. You can either wire the in series or parallel. The setting you have shown is the parrallel connection. This will allow the motor to be driven with a higher current (1.414 x the motor phase current rating) The drive will have two phase ...

Have you checked the bearings that fix the end of the ballscrew? I am not sure what you should expect from the screws but I would expect it to be tenths. Do you have backlash in all axes?

I think the double nut was only fitted to the Z axis and then only on later models.

Are the drive belts tight?

If you have 3mm of error you willeither be able to feel it mechanically or will find the slide has stalled. First try to pull the slide back and forth. If you can feel movement (backlash) then you have to find where its coming from. It will be in the ballscrew, where the nut fastens to the slide, in...
