Re: Tormach TTS on Triac R8 spindle
The common problem with the Tormach TTS is pull down, on small cutters its not too bad but face mills and high helix cutters can be fun to say the least. Its not the best system, a BT30 conversion would be far better and the tooling is easy to get, £20 for a ER20 (1-13mm) collet chuck is great value.

Hi,
it is indeed a single inverter type, is it possible to change it to two and make things work more smoothly?
Thanks
Graham

Should the red led be flashing all the time on the board, will this stop once the PC is connected? Thanks Gra...

Re: Sprint 1200
I ended up putting a new sprint 1200 in my machine, the sprint burned out because the tacho generator on the end of the spindle motor was shorting out I ended up replacing the tacho, the magnets and case on the motor and the sprint 1200.

I have a Triac with Baldor Flexdrives, servos and resolvers, I have tried to connect to them using a null modem cable and the Baldor flex software but the software can not find the drives. Serial Protocol for Starturn 4 PC
I am running a Starturn 4 off an old laptop using DOS version 6, all is working well but the problem is I keep running into the maximum number of lines allowable in the Denford software. I guess all that is happening in the software is a string of text is being sent and an Ack returned when that lin...

It is also worth noting that most of these units reverse at 2 or 3 times the in feed speed.

Re: G84 Triac problem
If you are NOT using a compression/tension type tap holder you are going to have to invest in one. I use a PCM type ET1 ER32 collet 12mm bore and make sleeves to suite the taps. Part number 32120 you can find them on eBay cheep if you use the odd ball sizes I got an 11.2 dia one for £6.00 http://www...

Re: Triac with Baldor drives
The drives do enable, until I try to home the machine. I will have a look and see if I can work out why the e-stop is failing.
