This link covers setting offsets on the lathe http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=73&highlight=offsets With regard to the teacher only wanting to program positive numbers he can only do this if he does not want the tool to move in a negative direction. On a mill this would result in the too...

The origin of the part in the design software does not matter. When you bring it in to Quick CAM to can orient the part within the billet. On the last page of the Wizard just before you post process the file there is the option to move the origin in all 3 axes. :!: Check out the tutorials in the Hel...

Having spoken to Admin it sounds like the licence file is not installed where the software expects it to be. The software looks for a valid SecKey.tff file in the directory as the application exe file. If it is not found in this directory the software scans for a dongle on the parallel port and if n...

Looks good. How have you created the Vacuum? We have some adaptors that plug into a standard vacuum cleaner hose that allow air to pass through the vacuum so cooling it but also creating a vacuum on a smaller diameter pipe. We have sold these for about £5 on our Ebay store. If anyone is interested w...

When making the first tool change is the tool fitted in the spindle and an empty slot in the carocell? When the tool comes down to be dropped into the carocell and it crashes is it just touching the carocell or trying to drive a long way past the position? If you do the tool change without a tool yo...

Stepper motor current
I noticed the note at the begining of the thread relating to the motor current on the machine. The stepper rating of 2.1 A relates to the winding current. If the windings are connected in series then the max current is 2.1A. If the windings are paralleled up the drive current can be increased to 1.4...

I have not tried to cut foam board before but would suggest you try either selecting a very soft material and see how it cuts. If it does not cut through try increasing the intensity or a different material setting. You could also try two passes over the same part or deep engraving (on a blue line) ...

Please refer to the link below. This will let you identify the control card you have and then the apropriate upgrade. I think you will have the rack mounted card so the UGR007 will probably apply. You can only upgrade within the version of software you have for free. Provided the machine has a rack ...

I agree with ADMIM. It is worth an hour to write down all the parameters and diagnostics. If you ever see a message BAT flashing on the operators panel then it is a warning the battery backup is low. If you dont replace the batteries you will loose the parameters. If you see the BAT message DO NOT T...

The Fanuc OT does have some commands to clear all programs in memory also all parameters and offsets. You must make sure you do not clear the parameters as this would be a big problem. With the power to the machine OFF To clear all stored programs Press in the DELETE key and hold down then power on....

Ordering spares from Denford is simple enough. All you have to do is tell us what you want and we can give you a price and delivery date (IF THE PART IS NOT IN STOCK AND HAS TO BE MANUFACTURED). You then send us a check and we will ship the goods. The difficult bit with a machine the age of yours is...

I now understand you are using a laser to engrave the picture. To try and print a picture with a laser on wood is dificult as slight variations in the wood will cause the image to be darker in some areas. The best way to get round this is to convert the image using a package such as photoshop to tur...

You go to the SETUP, MATERIALS, EDIT MATERIALS MENU and you can then add your own materials with feeds speed...
