Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
The micro switches are only used when you power the machine and have to home it, if they go faulty you find the machine will continue to try and travel even when it hits its travel limit. You are correct you can't get the screw switches anymore, but once you have converted from the ring terminals to...

thats a brake, rather than relying on the stepper to hold the height, not fitted to all machines.

Re: Advice
that looks to be the later of the 2 types fitted, the aluminium base holding it is just a clamp with an allen key, loosen it off and you can lift the motor out (unplug) use a coin or large screw driver to undo the 2 plastic covers (slowly) the brushes are in there, bit of a fiddle but they just pull...

Re: Advice
ok you have a next step RS232 card so you will need to ensure your PC has an RS232 port, it doesn't need to be anything high spec unless you are doing the CAD on it. I tend to do the CAD in the house and take the file to the garage but inevitably found i have had to modify things so upped the spec, ...

Re: CONVERT NOVAMILL TO RUN ON MAC THREE
Just wondering, why change to Mach 3? Have you tried running it using the denford software? I've never done it but the control in the novamill is pretty much the same for the microrouter, micromill folks have done it before, you would be best searching the posts on the forum about mach 3 and to look...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
Hi, funny I just watched a video which made me think of you, are you still looking at vacuum pumps? it turns out that these compressors are also vacuum pumps. Looking at the specs for the level of vacuum from the denford ones this would do the job as its stated output pressure equals the vacuum used...

Ok 1st thing open up the side of the cab, take some pics of the control board included the sticky labels on the top of the chips. We need to know that so we know what control it has onboard (many have been upgraded from what the plate says on the side). If you just want to get it up and running you ...

Re: New owner - no software
Hi, I have used the denford Vr milling software for near on 20yrs now, It does the job and is relatively straight forward. I have seen people go down the route of gutting machines of the control for ebay mach 3 conversions and many hours of setting up and often question why. I am sure that mach 3 or...

Re: VR Turning help file.
Ive been working with Denford VR turning for about 20yrs in school and still haven't worked my way through the help. Its one of those things, you learn what you need to get a job done at that time, it's only when something comes along that needs more that you try and stay 1 step ahead.

Re: VR Turning help file.
That took me a while to locate as it's not in the Help 'contents' file as such but in the CNC programming.
Mine shows the same I am on version 1.49.

Re: Another Communication problem
what cable do you have running from the RS232 to the machine? If you have a search there is a pin out that is to run direct from 9way on a PC to the 9way on the board. Have you selected the correct machine in VR milling? You don't say which board you have, does it have the red 7 seg or the green 7 s...

Re: Maxirouter Emergency Stop Help
I'm not familiar with the Maxi but the ESR is the E stop relay, the slider as far as i can tell is a manual operation of it. The override Martin mentioned I believe could be the green button next to the E_stop switch. I know this might sound daft but you have reset the e-stop switch (twist and it sh...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
I had forgotten about static from extraction. I have witnessed how bad static can be. We have 2 microrouters at work, both have metal bodied Numatic heppa equipped woodvac units (like metal versions of the Henry). We heard a ticking noise one lunch when the machine was running, 40mins or so into a j...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
Which unit do you have as a spindle motor? I only have experience of the porter-cable units, you do need to keep an eye on the brushes as they do wear. It is easiest to take the motor out to check them. Also it can be worth either turning off or un plugging the spindle and running a job with no cutt...
