I was getting confused because I did'nt zero the machine offsets before I took the 'circle centre' ones. I havent got the x y boxes in the 3d sim window to move the datum ?

Sorry thats right! CAN,COMMAND turns off the screen my mistake!

I had a similar problem on a Fanuc OT. solution was to boot up while holding down CAN and COMMAND buttons
