Re: Getting going with VR Milling

I just read the 'Transferring Flash Data Article #1012' and that seems to indicate it is just a case of copy and paste the 4 lines of code, I am sure I have done this in the past at work when we got PC's with no floppy drive. Still worth a go with the original flash install Just a wonder, are you le...

Re: Getting going with VR Milling

I think its a few hundred £ to get VR5. Have you tired installing VR2 on the PC then copying and pasting the licence text into windmill.ini I have the install setup up files I could send you for VR2, you would need to copy the text from your copy of Windmill.ini into the 'Flash.ini' you would then r...

Re: Getting going with VR Milling

I would just copy the file rather than just the text, or copy the section and paste it into a txt file, open that on the new PC and copy it from there and drop it in the to the same point, I seem to recall if you even get a space wrong it wont work VR5 is much better as it includes a post processor ...

Re: Getting going with VR Milling

Hi, it is the second and third posts in that thread you need to follow.

There is some really good help files within the software and well worth working through to get running.

Here is a quick video on running VR 5 with a compact. VR2 is very similar.

Re: Getting going with VR Milling

Ignore the plate at this point, that tells you what the eprom might have but many machines got upgraded (swapped eprom) but not the plate. The only way to know for sure would be to open up the panel and look on the top of the eprom, when you install the software what version does it say it is? VR2.x...

Re: Novaturn without ATC - VR Turning settings

that doesnt sound like an ATC issue, more that your job exceeds the travel of the machine, so check your material size, zero points and the machine capabilities, When you get an exceeds limits warning it normally will report by how much and in which direction on the milling software anyway. Ive not ...

Re: Microrouter - Board faults

you should be able to find the drawings on the forum http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=37 you will need to do a bit of checking as to which is which, machines got upgraded over time and this wasn't always recorded on the plate. Yours is visually older in that the electronics are in the se...

Re: Microrouter - Board faults

Just an addition, you need to work out what has failed, I know the control boards are prohibitively expensive new, so second hand would be your only option if so, unless you could go down to component replacement. No idea what the cost of the speed controllers are. If it is main boards, it may be a ...

Re: Microrouter - Board faults

I would be looking at all the components for evidence of the pop. Hopefully Steve or Martin will be able to say where to look in more detail. It could be on the speed controller rather than the upper board. If you are OK with a meter I would pull the plugs from the lower board and check the output f...

Re: Resurrecting a Compact 1000

try running the 'easy upgrade' or 'easy update' can't remember which, it's part of the software on the CD. you should be able to get it to talk to the machine.

I have had this, i was able to solve it by a full deinstall and reinstall of VR5

Re: Compact 1000 pro E-stop and off on switch

the Z motor is not switching off as it is not seeing the switch state change, there is the possibility that the wire is damaged within the connectors so this could be why this is happening with new switches, also is there a possibility that the contacts on the switch are not the same so in fact it i...

Hi, hope you on the better side of ill!! The cable indicated looks like the sort of thing you could try. Re: Spindle trip

Not sure if the Denford control goes at things straight at full speed. I would have thought the Sprint controller as a stand alone unit operated by a pot on the 3 wires would just have the 10v there the wiper picking up the voltage it is set to and then you enable the drive. Unless the 10v on the Sp...

Re: Converting microturn/micromill to manual spindle control(Help needed)

I was going to say, I don't know, but did have a feeling you needed to enable the spindle some how which would normally come from the control board. My only other suggestion would be to look at those PDFs I had uploaded a while back.

Glad you got sorted.
