Re: Cam Wizard not specifying roughing cuts.
I uninstalled QuickTURN 2D Design, Downloaded the latest version from the Denford site and reinstalled it. This was just in case the software on my PC had been corrupted. The version is V1.34.7885.56078 as before. Results were much the same as before. Change the tool angle to 55 degrees and no rough...

Re: Cam Wizard not specifying roughing cuts.
I've done some experimenting with the following results:- Ver: 1.34.7885.56078 I note this is a different version 1.34 to the one you're using. Tooling File: QuickTURN_Default.MML With tool angle 65 degrees things work correctly and GCode is generated with roughing steps. This is regardless of wheth...

Re: Cam Wizard not specifying roughing cuts.
I'm using version 1.34.7885.56078. I've changed the Machine Tooling file to reflect the fact that my RH turning tool has a tip angle of 55 degrees rather than the default 65 degrees. Machine is a Mirac which as far as I can see is doing exactly what the Gcode is telling it to. I didn't specify parti...

Cam Wizard not specifying roughing cuts.
I've used Quick TURN 2D Design to import the attached file dome.dwg which is a simple dome or bell shape. Quick TURN 2D Design converts this to a .lcm file which I can't attach here as I get an invalid file extension error. When I use the Cam Wizard to generate GCode from the .lcm the file dome.fnl ...

Re: Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.
After carrying out a few experiments I think I know what's going on here. For some reason the DWG import function puts F parameters in the generated Gcode with a value of zero ie F0 or no feed. I have no idea what this means or how the machine interprets it. The help file is not helpful where F0 is ...

Re: Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.
Try turning turbo mode off as the program reads ahead as far as the next modal change. The feed displayed will be the feed where's the program has read ahead to. If you turn turbo off the machine will display the feed of the actual currently exicuted line. Point taken and I'll try it. However the o...

Re: Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.
Hi, so is it just a display issue and it is moving at the correct speed (matches the program) or is it moving at the displayed speed e.g. 39ipm Is this happening with all files? DO an 'air cut' but change that feed speed F0.875 to say F10 and see what it does. Have you tried any of the 'demo' FNC f...

Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.
When executing a part program VR Milling displays the feed speed. I assume it derives this from the F (feed speed) parameter in the part program. However the speed is often incorrectly displayed possibly because the software is reading the wrong parameter. I've attached screen shots of two examples....

Re: LINE ANGLES
I think I get it.
What the software has done is to take 90 degrees, call it 90 millimetres and convert that to inches.
90mm = 3.54331inches.
Looks clearly wrong to me.

LINE ANGLES
I've been experimenting with the unlicensed version of QuickTURN 2D Design. If I look at the properties of a line drawn parallel to the X axis its angle is given as 3.54331. If I look at the properties of a line drawn parallel to the Z axis its angle is given as 7.08661, which is twice the previous ...

Line numbering problem.
If an attempt is made to add line numbers to a part program, having blank lines, the entire edit window is deleted. ie: Open a .fnl file. Click Editor. Click Modify. Click Line numbering. Click OK The contents of the edit window are deleted. It took me a while to realise what was causing the problem...

Re: VR Turning help file.
Thanks for that Pete.
It's not just me then! I'm at version 1.51. When I get a chance I'll try it on Windows XP.
Given that this software is used in educational establishments I'm surprised this hasn't been reported before.
Max.

VR Turning help file.
Some of the pages in the help file dealing with G Codes supposedly show diagrams. However when I view these pages the diagrams don't appear. This applies to both Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines.
Is this a general problem or is it just me?
Thanks, Max.
