Re: easiturn 3 , data link problem. Please help!

I think there could be a couple of reasons for this. Either a) the PC is sending all of the CNC program but the control only recognises the first block. b) The PC sends the first block and is waiting for the control to request the next block. I am not familiar with EasyDNC but here are some suggesti...

1)This software does not support the plane selection command i.e G17, G18, G19. FANUCMD software does not support plane switching function. You can only work in the XY plane. 2)when I give compensation command i.e G54 it does'nt accept any given value but always compensates only 2mm as default. FAN...

Re: Need drivers for a Denford Starturn 4

Oh dear... This is a VERY old machine. Over 20 years old! The software to control this machine is here http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=3288 under "StarTurn very old DOS software" [edit: fixed the link to old s/w] http://website.denford.ltd.uk/support/90-dos-info/106-dos-software Re...

Re: NEE SMCU Installation Guide Version2 Oct 1987 OCR pdf

Love the minimum system requirements:
"DOS 2.0 or higher"

All of the old Denford applications used a customised version of the SMCU controller firmware (for things like the SMCU controlled Starmills and the Triacs "ATC Controller board") but the hardware should be pretty much the same as this doc.

Re: Measuring the Spindle Analogue voltage on a NextStep

Cheers Guys,
I've bypassed the spindle drive for now so the spindle only runs at full wack! (but at least we can make cars)
The NextStep was replaced last year - not sure of the version # but it had black connectors (not orange). Does this mean it's a new type board with the mod?

Measuring the Spindle Analogue voltage on a NextStep

Hi guys, I'm working with a guy whose spindle wont run on a MicroRouter. With the spindle relay energised I've got power to the spindle drive but no output. I don't have any 0-10v analogue going in. I'm trying to determine if the NextStep is faulty (no analogue output) or if it's a faulty drive pull...

This used to be played to everyone who came on a Denford training course. Is it sad that I still knew half of the script off by heart!
Can anyone dig out the CIM video too? Another cracker!

Re: MIRAC PC - fanuc OT - communication via MDI or MINP mode

Hi Your OPT and GO files indicate that your machine is already configured to use the $$MACHINE commands. In order to use this, the computer that is controlling the machine MUST have 3 x serial ports fitted and be configured like this... Mirac Machine connected to COM1 Desk Top Tutor connectoed to CO...

Re: MIRAC PC - fanuc OT - communication via MDI or MINP mode

Hi slackebr, Here are my suggestions to help with connecting your machine to your CIM system. 1) You MUST use the PC running the Mirac DOS software to control them machine. You can not send CNC programs to the machine controller directly. You can not use the MDI (M29) or MINP mode with your machine....

Re: mill cam designer & lathe cam designer

No Worries.
As a hint, if you rename you PNC.CS and PNC.CFG files to EDITOR.CS and EDITOR.CFG respectively in the Industrial Text Editor folder then these will be loaded by the Editor at startup (there will be files with these EDITOR names in there already - just delete or move them beforehand)
Cheers

Re: mill cam designer & lathe cam designer

Hi Techy
Here is a new ZIP that will install both the Lathe and Mill PNC3 post processors.
No need to uninstall the previous version, just install this one over the top.
Cheers

Re: mill cam designer & lathe cam designer

I have just realised that if you are getting a .TRS file you must be using the "really old" software that stores in Binary format (and can't read a file created with cad/cam).

Take a look at this post
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=196
to get alternative Triac software.

Re: mill cam designer & lathe cam designer

G'Day all :D The attached file will install a PNC3-Miller post processor for your MillCam Designer software. Unzip into a folder on your hard-drive, then run the INSTALL program and follow the prompts. Once installed, run MillCam and your should be able to pick "PNC3 Miller" as your machine at MillC...

Re: DOS Milling Software - "Invalid Billet Size" error.

There is a minimum billet size that can be defined with the [BILLET command (can't remember what it is off hand though). But this command is only used for the graphical simulation and does not affect the machining process. So I suggest you change the BILLET command to something larger (increase your...

Re: Z-Axis problem with router 2600 - please help me diagnose!

I've worked on a similar problem where all 3 axes had failed. Turned out the motor connectors had been wired incorrectly so all of the L298s outputs had been shorted to ground :( (with holes blown in the side of them) Just for info.... - Original symptom: the motors were completely dead (no power) -...

Re: Millcam designer and Lathecam designer on Windows xp

I think the normal setup program for MillCam adds an entry to your "C:\Windows\Win.ini" file.

So if you've just copied the files across from another PC you will have to manually add this entry. (try searching for the word DENFORD in your original WIN.INI)

Re: Cyclone with mutiple problems plz help.

All I can remember is that each machine had a folder assigned to it in filling cabinet in the old Drawing Office :!: :?: :!:
It does ring a bell that CYC1.0A had a folder in there (it's funny the things you start to remember!)

Back from my holidays.... Happy New Year to you all! I think this could be one of (if not the ) first Cyclone ever built (well not the first - that one fell of the back of a lorry in Hanover). The PLC EPROM numbering system is CYC V.M R V = PLC version number M = machine number R = PLC revision numb...

Re: Starmill pc 1995

Hi Tim... Here is some useful info... 1) Your dongle connection in the picture is correct. NOTE that nothing plugs into the other end of the dongle. It just sits in there on its own! 2) Your computer will (hopefully) have 2 x serial ports (sometimes called COM ports or RS232 ports). I can see one on...
