Re: Versa Laser is not cutting deep enough
I have full administration rights, the laser is just over two years old, the optics have been cleaned and we are now at a loss over what to do next. This machine is critical to our GCSE group and it isn't working.

Re: Versa Laser is not cutting deep enough
Have sorted out a calibration tool and reset the engraving table and cutting bed, they were about 1.0mm out. BUT, we are still having problems, the laser seems very bright and has created a large burn mark around the cutting area setting the wood on fire. The finished cut is charred and has charcoal...

Re: Versa Laser is not cutting deep enough
I am finding the laser will not cut through the material using the auto focus mode (as it was orignally set up). We haven't got the stepped tool you mention in our box that came with the laser. I have cleaned everything, got Auto Z enabled etc, BUT the laser does seem to be higher than normal when c...

Materials table not coming up
We have had to install a new hard drive in the PC that runs our VLS4.6 versalaser. The drivers has been re-installed and we can communicate with the machine but two problems :
1) The bed will not go down
2) We have lost all our materials
Can you advise how we can get these back please ?
Many Thanks

Re: Z datum not setting to zero
I have had time this morning to do yet another set up on the machine. I have print screened each step for you to look at and see if you can see what the problem is.
Please advise.

Re: Z datum not setting to zero
I have created the support file, but this was on my demo which had worked fine previously. The pupils' offset has disappeared which is strange, also when I tried to run my demo set up after the datums refused to zero (which worked fine previously) the program threw up an error code message. Please a...

Z datum not setting to zero
We are doing controlled assessment today and when we have come to set the Z datum on the workpiece offset it will not reset to zero.
We have rebooted the pc and also turned the machine on and off numerous times but it will not work.
Please advise on how to overcome this problem.

Laser cutting over dimension plate ?
Our versalaser has started cutting / engraving on the dimension plate / ruler. It looks as though the laser is not homing to x and y correctly and when focused is slightly off where it should be. Can you tell me how to correct this problem ?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Error code on program that has run many times before
Thanks for the reply, as it happens tool 3 was the problem and I re-did the tool offset. I have no idea why the offset changed. Also today on the same project we had the following occur which has me baffled : A pupil set up their own offset under their own name under direct supervision, when the mac...

Screw Cutting with low carbon steel
Hi, We are having difficulties when screw cutting with low carbon steel. The tool stops and jams halfway down the thread depth, half way along the length of the screw. When looking at the cam wizard in quickturn 2d I have found the RPM & pecking depth for cutting aluminium & steel are the same. Sure...

Saving Offsets
I am having trouble saving and retrieving offsets. I am using Quickturn 2D to create the machine code and VR turning to run the machine. I am setting the offsets in VR turning and at the end of the machining cycle pressing file, save. This saves the .fnl file in the mydocs/denford/cnc files director...

I have noticed when I am cutting white opaque acrylic it marks on the underside. Is there anyway I can prevent this as I want to dye sublimate on both sides ?
