Here you go, perhaps Admin could put it in the downloads, for others to use? As I know a lot of people struggle with not knowing how to correctly operate the Autolock chuck.
Sorry the Pics are so big , I have limited photo editiing on my work laptop

Richard, You can only use screwed shank tools with autolock chucks. The correct method of assembly is to first insert collet into the collet sleeve, then insert sleeve and collet into the chuck itself, screw sleeve down until the faces of chuck and sleeve meet. Now you can screw in cutter until it l...

Hi there, I never had any luck with the 9 way RS232 plug. I would say your best bet is to get hold of an old 386 or 486 PC with a 25 way serial/RS232 socket and go from there. Use either the Industrial text editor or Triac 2.4 from the downloads section. That is the only way i got my 1986 triac to t...

Another one of the PNC's 'Special features' then!! Thanks Magoo, I will try it in Incremental just to see! Admin, Creating a 'long winded' version is what i intended to do anyhow, as i am using a cam system, so just need to alter the post to suit. But as the G83 drilling cycle was there, i thought i...

It is a PNC controller, Its drilling cycle is slighty odd anyhow as you need to put Z as a positive to to achieve a minus! Also it drills the depth (in this case 9mm) from where the G01 Z0 FZ200 line is! So if G01 Z3 it would drill 9mm from 3mm above job  The 'C' is cycles, So In Fanuc terms '...

Triac Drilling cycle
Hello again, after a small break I have now been doing some jobs on the Triac again. Working well at the moment. However one thing which puzzles me is the drilling cycle. When drilling a series of holes each hole becomes shallower in depth! any ideas :?: Programme as below G00 X0 Y0 G01 Z0 FZ200 G83...

I think there is a list of g codes for the triac in the manual in the downloads section. If not I can scan in the ones from my manual for my '86 triac. I guess they won't be much different from your 1990 model. As for getting the programmes into the machine. I would reccomend you get yourself an old...

Admin' Although this is no help in solving CK's problem. The old Dos software does not accuratly 'simulate' what the triac can do as I found out this week as 'Triac 2.4' was telling me arcs were 'out of quadrant' but the programmed arcs ran fine on the Triac itself. Just thought this might help in s...

I had the same problem with my '86 Triac, I tried changing the relays, but this did not solve the problem, so this seemed like a circuit board problem. My solution was to swap two phases on the motor, and always programme Reeverse (M04), this then giving the forward motion required. I did this as a ...

Right I have now got somewhere  :D Getting the 486 has given me access to a 25 way Com port, so after having no joy with the 9 way as used on the win 98 m/c and tried first on the 486. I decided to make a cable up to use the 25 way. Well this appears to have done the trick :D I can now DNC the ...

Ok I have tried a few things since the last post. I have managed to get hold of an old 486 computer running win 3.1 from a friend. This I have used in DOS as suggested, which I had previously tried with the win 98 machine with no luck. But Guess what? Same probs with this PC also, just 1st line then...

Hello again Mr Magoo, just tried the test on the computers serial port, and all appears ok, Whatever I type in appears to come back in ie: If i type 'm' it returns 'm' and in the status bar it says 1 byte received. so I would assume this shows the computer's serial port to be ok. I did try another P...

Hi Mr Magoo, Tried using the serial port monitor, although a different one to the one you mentioned as it was not compatible with win 98. On using the hyperterminal prog (which does not appear to connect to the triac), the Port monitor gave me an output of <CAN><CAN><CAN><CAN><CAN> This means nothin...

Triac Baud rate Dip Switches
With Refererance to my earlier posting http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=756 I would like to have a play around with The Baud rates for my '86 Triac, to see if this will solve my RS232 link problem. However lookiing ing the manual I can not find any info on the switch settings. I assume t...
