DavidB, that sounds like a good project for my current project which is a Conect121 Lathe, now more motivated to get it up and running So are they all INT30 or did I get a special one of some sort?
Akorenica, thank you, will be ordering a few, hopefully the tooling they used stayed in good shape.

Re: Novamill questions
Interesting, when I say drawbar I mean the bolt that came with the machine. How are those collets in terms of leaving marks on the taper? did they need a bit of work with a file?

Re: Novamill questions
Thank you very much Akorenica. Will look at it. Sorry for the late reply, need to figure out this forum notifications settings. Also, I bought a BT30 ER collet holder and discovered the drawbar doesn't actually reach it. Looking at photos it looks more like a INT30 as it has the extended thread for t...

Re: Novamill questions
Thank you TomJennings ! Sorry it took me so long to check this page, I had lost hope on getting a reply. That is quite a setup you have there, very impressive. Thank you for all the answers. Regarding number 5, yes, the pulley is tight and I changed the belts with some of identical part numbers. One...

Re: Spindle stalling after running
Hello Steve, Thank you very much for taking the time to read through this! I went and checked, it is doing 5000rpm (according to the tacho) at 180V DC on the KBIC240D, didn't do the same check with the original Sprint 400 board, if you think it would be useful to do I will rewire it and check? I did...

Re: Spindle stalling after running
The saga continues.
Changed the controller to a KBIC 240D and it spins well, need to tune the KBIC as it spun up the spindle to over 7000rpm (according to the cheap amazon tacho).
Do you kind folk think it is an issue with the sprint 400?
Many thanks,
Mihail.

Re: Spindle stalling after running
Even further updates... Hopefully the light bulb will appear will typing or someone will get enough information to figure it out. I changed the network cable between the Windows 10 PC and the UC400 ETH and the number of errors reduced but not to 0. I disconnected the 0-10V output from the BOB to the...

Re: Spindle stalling after running
Thank you David, will investigate. It tripped 2 RCDs but not the one in the middle. The extension cord has an RCD plug, the socket is RCD and the fusebox as an RCD, and it would trip the Socket and the fusebox.
I mentioned it in case it gives more context into the issue I am having with the spindle.

Re: Spindle stalling after running
Further updates, checked the UC400ETH status and it was getting errors as soon as the spindle was turned on. My thoughts are: 1- check with a different network cable 2- the isolated board isn't isolated enough and it is interfering with the controller (on the plus side, if that's the case, it is iso...

Spindle stalling after running
Hello All, I have a Novamill converted to Mach 3, running on a UC400ETH and a CP0-10V BOB. Has anyone encountered the spindle stalling even when not under any load, with the Sprint 400 board stall light coming on after running it for what seems to be about 1 minute? At 5000rpm, at 4000rpm and 3000rp...

Re: Novamill Stepper motors dead?
Please let us/me know how you get it fixed.
Following with great interest.
When you do get a better look inside, could you please check if the Z axis ballnut is a Hiwin on your machine?

Novamill questions
Dear all, Could you please share some of your knowledge. I am in process of updating the steppers/drivers and control board on a Novamill from 2000, the original Denstep board was well corroded with loose vias. How is the spindle rotation direction change implemented in the Novamil? I have a few rel...

If anyone is thinking of getting the riser block made and would benefit from another unit to reduce the per unit cost, please let me know.
