Re: ATC locking up.

it's probably the reduction gearbox that sits under the motor. One of the gears gets damaged over time and stalls the motor.

Re: Spindle control help please

Be very careful with the speed control. The Denford spindle drive requires a DC ISOLATED 0-10v input to control it's speed, this must not be connected to ground in any way. DIYCNC make a board that can control the spindle board from a computer, i'll try to find it and add a link.

Re: Orac Mach3 Z stuttering when attempting to thread cut

try putting a pause in the code after the spindle start and before the first move, something around 5 seconds. This allows the spindle to get up to speed before the code moves the axis.

Re: X Axis Backlash Fanuc Triac

first off download the triac assembly diagrams and you can see what is behind the x axis pulley. Remove the motor with the plate still attached and then the ballscrew pulley. (there are two grub screws holding it on) Behind the pulley is the bearing assembly which is held in by a tab nut. Fold the t...

Re: Cyclone cut thread problem.

try generating your threading program and look at the code, then change the threading g code for the one that your machine accepts.

Re: Cyclone cut thread problem.

i think there are several threading g codes and the software gives the wrong one for the controller. Try editing the g code with the other threading g codes

Re: Replacing X and Y axis switch wiring?

the preload should be in the nuts sizing rather than the position of the two nuts to each other. I would have thought the second nut is for extending the life and load of the screw.

This preloading of two opposing nuts is common with leadscrews on mill tables, where the nuts use the leadscrew thread.

Re: Replacing X and Y axis switch wiring?

hi Moray, i believe the wiring is put in when the base is open, so you will find it a shade difficult to do on a complete triac.

Re: A low profile, flat modular clamping system/vice for Nov

the vices sold with the boxford 190 and 240 are pretty good for the novamill, the one supplied with the 190 is slightly smaller. If you go on the boxford website you can see the exploded view of the vice.

Re: Bringing my Novamill back to life

YOU MUST drive this 0-10v input from a DC ISOLATED source. If you connect either of those two wires to ground you will fry something. Opto isolation is not the same as DC ISOLATION. DO NOT make this mistake, as you will fry either the sprint board or the breakout board, sometimes both. On mycncuk fo...

it's a fair bit of work, but yes it can be done. You may need a different version of denfords software to run it.
